Activities Assistant- Murrieta, CA


Description: The Activities Assistant is responsible for working with the Activities Director to organize and conduct an activity program for the residents that enriches the quality of their lives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Shall have a high school diploma, or equivalent.

  • Be able to read, write, understand and communicate in English at a minimum level to understand and be understood by supervisors, co-workers and residents.

  • Possesses clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive and energetic attitude.

  • Professional in appearance and conduct.

  • Must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI via the Live-Scan process prior to initial presence in the facility.

  • Be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks. Good physical health and freedom from tuberculosis hall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days following employment.

  • Must have dependable transportation and be able to work varying hours as needed.

  • Must complete all training required by Title 22 and H&S Safety Code.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

The Activities Assistant should work with the Activities Director to complete the following tasks:

  • Develop an activities program that encompasses the following: physical exercise, arts and crafts, entertainment, religious services and special events.

  • Encourage resident participation in the activities.

  • Set up and organize all activities and events.

  • Interview new and existing residents to discover what their activity interests are and develop programs that fit the majority.

  • Organize leisure time activities such as games, puzzles, movies, etc.

  • Decorate the Community for special events, holidays and parties.

  • Educate the residents through guest speakers or classes such as current events, travel, health and other related self-help topics.

  • Coordinate transportation schedules with the driver(s).

  • Other duties as directed by the Administrator.
